Over the last few weeks I have felt my attention being pulled; I let myself get caught up in the looping thoughts and indecisiveness of what I wanted vs the reality of the present.
To shift the stuck energy and thought pattern I coached myself, asked the toughed questions, journaled and then set action steps.
One of the action steps was to come back to my body through movement.
With my yoga practice I move my body everyday but this action was to move my body in a more vigorous way, in a way that would really shake my energy and bring me home.
As part of my commitment to myself I added the gym back into my schedule and more time in nature with hiking and bike rides.
Today my movement activity involved an early morning hike up Mt Ngungun and it was magic.
As soon as I started out I instantly felt my nervous system relax and let go.
Here there was nothing to think about, nothing to do but move my legs and get to the top. The stuckness that I had been feeling shifted within minutes and I was home. Home in my body and it felt good. The looping thoughts a distant memory and the clarity that they were simply a distraction from letting me take action and stopping me from doing the real work that I needed.
This is also the beauty of reflection we can see exactly what we needed but couldn’t quite do at the time. Today I appreciated the whole journey to here, the stuckness, the inaction and now the action, the coming home and the freedom.
Plus it was a great reminder that I too do the work.
I set myself homework, make a commitment to myself, my goals and I make them happen. I live and breathe what I do and I hold myself accountable every step of the way.
This is also what I offer my clients, I don’t make you go anywhere I haven’t been and I hold you accountable to achieving what you set out to make a reality.
Plus I’m with you every step of the way.
If you are feeling stuck and looking for more emotional, mental and physical freedom in your life get in contact and we can discuss working together.
